Project Change Management Fundamentals Minimize

This one day course on Project Change Management Fundamentals is directed to those who are responsible for managing projects, are members of a project team or find themselves as change agents for a change initiative. This is an entry level course for active project participants and has no pre-requisites.

Note: This course is about the human dynamics of change and you will explore the impacts and changes that projects have on human beings.
This course is not about change control.


Length:  One Day

Purpose:
The Project Change Management Fundamentals course will provide participants with a working level knowledge of project change management as well as skills in using project change management tools and templates.   During the course participants will gain knowledge on the following topics:

  • What is Project Change Management
  • Common Change Management terminology
  • Integrated Project Change Life cycles and frameworks
  • Human Reaction to Change
  • Human Resiliency and Resistance to Change
  • Strategies to Reduce Unnecessary Disruption
  • How to Promote Change
  • How to Measure Change Readiness
  • Integrated Project Change Plan
  • Project Change Leadership

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess change readiness
  • Identify change barriers and opportunities
  • Establish an integrated project change framework to complete the project
  • Develop an integrated project change plan
  • Make project change stick
  • Appreciate the criticality and impact of project change management on the success of your project

Participants will enhance their competencies in project risk, communication, human resource and change management.

 Instructional Approach:

This course is made up of short lectures, multiple exercises, case vignettes, video clips, videos and games.  You are guaranteed not to be bored.  You will undertake both individual exercises and team assignments. Participation in the games and debates is always voluntary.
